YouTube Streaming Instructions
Introduction
Below are the basic instructions for viewing our streamed services or one of our archived videos or worship services located on YouTube.
Please don’t get confused or frustrated when trying to use You Tube. We use this service instead of FaceBook because it is much more reliable and provides a better user experience. But, it can be confusing to get to our stream, especially the first time or two that you try.
As a matter of clarification, on YouTube our “site” where we live stream is actually our “channel”. We only have one.
It is difficult to give precise instructions for using YT because each device may have different looks to the screen based on device settings. But, you should be able to modify the instructions easily if you will carefully look at your screen to determine which selection to use.
Getting Started on a Phone or Tablet
-- Download the app from your app store if you do not already have it on the device.
-- Install it on your device and open an account, or log in to your existing account.
Getting Started on a Computer or Laptop:
-- This is the highly recommend way to easily watch our service. You do not need an app.
-- Login to your YouTube account. If you do not have one, then sign up for one so you will be able to use full functionality of YouTube AND you will be able to make comments on the livestream.
-- Open your browser and enter this link: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCVP8S0aDdN67clIOcMugZwQ to go directly to our channel.
Viewing the Worship Service
-- Regardless of the device you are using, you must log into your YouTube account so you can make comments.
-- On the app or the computer browser, enter https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCVP8S0aDdN67clIOcMugZwQ to access our channel. If for some reason it does not work, then at the top of your screen enter “Gause Methodist Church” into the search field and find our site that way.
-- You will see our page with all the existing videos displayed. If we are currently live streaming, then that stream will be at the top of the page normally.
-- You will notice a button or link to “Subscribe.” By subscribing it makes it much easier for YouTube to always show our channel in a format where you can easily see the videos.
Making Comments
-- When viewing our worship service in the live format, PLEASE enter a comment showing your name and something short so we know you are worshiping with us. Just as if you were in a pew in the church, it helps everyone to know and to interact with others present in the service. Even though you are online, you are still part of our service and we want to know you are there.
-- Another reason to make chat comments is to let us know if there is a problem. We careful monitor our broadcasts, but if you are having an issue, let us know. Sometimes we may even be able to respond to you on chat.
To make comments, you must be logged in to your account.
1.The chat area will be displayed on your screen. On some phones, it may be a small link that you have to select.
2. Simply type in your comments and send them! Easy to do!

Typical Problems
- Can’t find us! Please review the above instructions. We are almost always there, so you may have missed step or made a mistake in searching for us. Rest assured, we will be there!
There is one caveat to that…If we are NOT there, it could be because of a problem with Verizon. Our internet service from Verizon is terrible and on rare occasions we don’t have enough bandwidth to broadcast out of the building. Please wait a few minutes and try again. On our end, this is not normally a long term problem, so we will always repeatedly attempt to restart the stream. On some Sundays the Verizon signal is borderline and it is always inconsistent. On borderline mornings, we just keep restarting until hopefully Version settles down. - Low or bad audio - 99% of the time this will be either a weak signal on your end or a setting that is not correct on your phone or computer. Make sure your volume is turned all the way up.
On our end, if the video or the audio is not being transmitted, then we have probably lost our bandwidth with Verizon. If this happens, you will normally not receive anything - video or audio. - Jerky video - This can be from our end or yours. Give us a comment if this happens so we can double check our broadcast. Normally it will be on your end with a weak or interrupted signal. Sometimes, but not always, if you close it out and restart then the problem might fix itself.
